We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Northern Powerhouse during our 10th-anniversary celebrations!

Language Insight partners with the Northern Powerhouse to boost economic growth
in the North.

The Northern Powerhouse is the Government’s vision for a super-connected, globally-competitive northern economy with a flourishing private sector, a highly-skilled population, and world-renowned civic and business leadership.

With our Head Office located in Lancashire, we are one of the growing number of UK businesses in the North to join the Northern Powerhouse network. As a partner, we will work towards building a Northern Powerhouse in one or more of the five key areas; Connectivity and transport, Education and skills, Enterprise and innovation, Trade and investment, and Quality of life.

Our Managing Director, Donna Twose states: “We are pleased to announce our partnership with the Northern Powerhouse. As we are a business based in the North, this partnership is something that we are committed to. We hope to work alongside the other Northern Powerhouse partners to promote the North as a hub for international trade, and we are aiming to continue our investment in the North as we carry on growing our teams in Preston.”

Trade and investment is the area in which we hope to contribute the most towards as a Northern Powerhouse partner, as 49% of our turnover now comes from international trade. We have achieved an overseas growth rate of 230% over the past 3 years which emphasises how the North is a great place to do business, both in the UK and internationally. This international growth has meant that we are one of the 29 northern businesses to be honoured with The Queen’s Award For Enterprise For International trade 2019.

We have also invested heavily in the set-up of our head office within the North of England which currently provides numerous job opportunities for local talent within the North West, and global talent all over the world from the likes of Germany, Japan, and China. We also work alongside local universities, such as Lancaster University, to provide placements for language students who are looking for work experience and graduate jobs.

Minister for the Northern Powerhouse, the Rt Hon Jake Berry MP said,

“The addition of Language Insight to our ever-growing network of Northern Powerhouse Partners is great news and I’m looking forward to the contribution this organisation will make in delivering on the Government’s ambition for a global-facing North which attracts foreign trade and investment to the region.

“As a Queen’s Award winner, Language Insight has already made great contributions to job creation and economic growth in the North and with their head office located in Lancashire I’m certain that they will continue to benefit the local community.”
