French’s future is very bright in Lancashire. Becky was invited to judge a languages competition for local school kids. Today she attended the judges’ meeting for French entries.

This morning, I had the privilege of attending a judges’ meeting for a local school languages competition organised by the Worldwise Centre at UCLan and the British Council.

The competition, called Lancashire’s Talent, invites Year 8 (aged 12-13) school kids from around Lancashire to submit poems, songs and videos in a foreign language. Last year saw over two hundred children take part, and whilst we expected a high level of entries, we never anticipated how creative and innovative they would be. As French Project Co-ordinator here at Language Insight, I was invited to judge the French entries, and I was very impressed. Unfortunately you will have to wait a week until I can reveal the winner!

The judges’ meetings for the other languages will take place on Monday, and our Spanish Project Co-ordinator Sam will be attending that one. The awards ceremony is on Thursday 3rd May, and we’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and post them on the blog.

Until then,

Becky.
